Ever since I began photographing weddings, the first one of the year always leaves me anxious. I am not only filled with excitment because I love what I do, but sometimes it feels like I need to get back into my "wedding groove". So, I am always left a little nervous starting the day off.
I am so glad this year started out with Melissa and Jacob. They were so calm, so at ease, and so natural throughout the entire day. Their families were wonderful, and the smaller wedding, of about 75, at Sunday River in Maine was a perfect setting to match their unique, relaxed personalities. Don't get me wrong, to say they were relaxed does not mean they were not a ton of fun! I loved photographing them within this setting with their friends and families, but especially the two of them together.
Though Melissa's nerves were not running high before the wedding, afterwards, I have never met someone who was so excited to be married, finally! She was so excited and happy and could not stop smiling after the ceremony. This intimate crowd was so much fun, the food was amazing, and the atomosphere just radiated love...
The first wedding of the season, by far, exceeded my expectations and I am so happy for the "new" Mr. & Mrs. Bartol!
